Precious Metal Cowl

Precious Metal Cowl

Precious Metal by Emma Vining

Inspired by the ripple patterns formed by the wind on drifting snow, this cowl blends a light and airy stitch pattern with a chunky, shimmering yarn. The dropped stitch rib pattern is reversible and uses short-row shaping to form the ripples and drifts. The cowl can be worn in a big loop or wrapped around your neck twice for a cosy feel.

NOTES

To minimise gaps in the short-row shaping sets, a stitch is wrapped before the work is turned. To wrap stitches: Knit the number of sts stated in the pattern; bring yarn to front of work; slip the next st purlwise; take yarn to back of work; return slipped st to left-hand needle without working it; turn work.

Closing the gaps: On the following row and in the sets of short-row shaping, when working a wrapped st, knit or purl the wrap loop together with the st.
